Youth Ministry
Though we offer ministries specifically for teenagers, we value cross generational experiences. As a result, we invite teenagers to participate alongside adults in service, ministry, and social events. We encourage mentoring both within and outside families.
Youth Group Nights
Junior and senior high school students meet on Wednesdays for an opportunity to grow in their relationship to God. They play some games, sing and worship, interact, and learn from the Bible regarding topics relevant to their lives today. Our goal is to encourage teenagers to know Jesus, serve Him, and share Him with others.
Youth Retreats
Getting away from routine is a great way for students to develop independence, get to know other students better, and have a significant quantity of time to focus on their relationship with God. During the year, there are several opportunities for students to take part in these potentially life changing weekends. There are retreats specifically for either Jr. High or Sr. High students so young people can be a part of a group with activities designed for their age level. The retreats involve traveling together, bunking with other kids in dorm type environments, and hearing tremendous music and teaching from gifted musicians and leaders. Other retreats are train students to lead others, plan, set up and run events for their peers. These retreats provide young people with a chance to step out and give back and minister to other students.
Youth Small Groups
Jr. & Sr. High students meet throughout the year to further develop their relationships with God and one another. This happens through the Wedneday night gatherings (called Wild Wacky Wednesdays) where youth can come to the church building and enjoy their time together while being introduced the truths of Jesus Christ. There is also the Youth Impact Community where those youth who want to go deeper in knowing Jesus, serving others and connecting with each other can participate in. This is open to anyone and meets on Sunday evenings in a local home.
Each team is led and coordinated by one or more of the adult volunteers that work every week with the students. In addition, there are periodic meetings where different groups meet to study specific aspects of how their faith in Jesus can and should affect their lives.
Youth Community Service Projects
Throughout the year, there are different opportunities for students to get involved with peers to help those who are either less fortunate. This involves raking the leaves for seniors, putting on community fairs, helping at a nursing home, baking treats for local organizations, etc…. The goal is to broaden students’ minds, to help them see the needs of the world around them, and encourage them to live as ambassadors of Jesus Christ to those around them.
